A good leader knows how to rally the troops, and Sadie seems to think she has stumbled into a job that the Military Working Dogs were practically made for. Something they can really… sink their teeth into. Cry havoc, and unleash the dogs of… escort duty!
The truck at the top is a real vehicle, the HETT (Heavy Equipment Transport Truck) and yes, it has a bizarre trailer with something like 20 wheels on it or something. The idea is, they can transport a tank on that trailer, with the weight spread out over multiple sets of wheels. They were used for ruined-vehicle retrieval duty a lot, even though a smaller vehicle could have brought back a HUMVEE.
Even when we got up-armored vehicles, there never seemed to be enough to go around. A few losses here and there and pretty soon there were shortages. In this case, it is a “mobility kill” because the vehicle is mostly intact, but unable to move, and therefore useless. It took awhile for the new “MRAP” (Mine-Resistant/Ambush Protected) vehicles to catch up to us, and even a few years into the war, older vehicles were still pressed in to fill gaps left by losses.
