Some people ride motorcycles all year around, even in the snow. You have to be a skilled rider (perhaps a little crazy) and have a good bike — and one that is not a “racer”. Joe’s decision has limited his mobility considerably, at least as far as anything beyond walking distance during the winter. Anyhow, decisions made now will allow for other story ideas to develop later.
