What is it about riding in military vehicles that seems to make you need to pee really, really badly? No matter how many times you go to the latrine –the “bathroom”– just thinking about getting into a military vehicle seems to fill your bladder with unexpected fluids.

To make matters worse, I think our chain of command has developed a sixth sense about a troops’ needs to pee juxtaposed with the needs of a convoy to move out for an hours-long convoy. They wait… and wait… carefully watching our facial expressions, our posture… waiting to see that furtive glance towards the restrooms and the calculations about time before roll-out and time to run in for some needed relief… only to be foiled by the command to “move out”!
