It’s amazing how much time we spend in the Army just doing inventories. We’re inventorying pretty much everything, all the time. Weapons of course are constantly being counted by serial number; radios, night-vision goggles, and so on and so forth. But even things like food and other common supplies are inventoried on a regular basis.
When you find out you have a lot of extra stuff you didn’t expect, that’s when the Good Idea Fairy makes her appearance!
So of course there’s always the joke about “surprise stew” or other things done with leftovers in the Army, but Private Donner looks at things a bit little differently. She’s having too much fun with that, and certainly banking on the unsettling feeling that comes with her family name.
