Typically, work computers in any area of endeavor are set to log you off after a period of inactivity. Of course it is for all the right reasons, you know, “security this” and “identity theft that”. But I swear that Army computers are set to log you off the minute you stop moving the mouse or aren’t actively clacking away at the keys.

A smart inventor will someday come up with a little robot mouse that can detect when there is no human hand on it, and every few seconds it automatically moves itself a little bit back and forth. If it can be done for a Roomba, then it should be done for a mouse! Of course these will be banned by system administrators everywhere (see above security requirements) but I can dream.
