So, when transporting soldiers around on bases in an “ordinary” (in other words, not training for combat) manner, it is common to use buses. Typically, these are old school busses, and needless to say they are not known for their robust heater systems or for being particularly well weather-sealed. About the only thing they provide protection against is wind and rain, and at the right angles, not even that very well. It was weird to touch metal that wasn’t burning hot for a change.
As I was doing the coloring for this it occurred to me that so many people get ice from refrigerator door dispensers these days, the ice tray may not be obvious at first. I hope I’m just over-thinking it.
And what about the driver? Hey, he’s from Wisconsin– twelve degrees Fahrenheit is a pretty mild winter for him.
