Duct tape –not “Duck” tape although there is a tape company using that as a brand name– is pretty tough stuff. Stories abound of it being used in all kinds of things, from fast field repair of bullet holes in helicopters all the way to being used to make prom dresses. But motorcycle racers frequently use duct tape on their knees for racing, when they lean into curves. Metal would heat up and send sparks flying; plastic would heat up and send hot gobs of molten “blech” flying. Duct tape just ablades away.

Wrap people up in enough of it, and they’d be pretty well protected form their own clumsiness, or just about anything else that comes along.
