Annual Training is over, and the gang is heading back home. Everyone wants to take home something to remember their experience by, but Alvarez maybe tried a little too hard.
So I had a personal 30-year anniversary of going to Germany on a similar exercise, and the 100-year anniversary of World War One in Europe in general. Memories that were recorded in history, and with the last World War One veterans dying off a few years ago, living recollection is gone and all we have left now are the records and what we can glean from them. And then there are the personal memories we carry with us all the time– the big events will be recorded, but the individual, personal experiences will largely be lost.
We’re coming to the end of a year, which is always a good time to reflect. Think about your memories and what you cherish of them, and maybe write them down so that at least other sin your family will hold onto them for a little while.
