You may have seen the meme, “My dog doesn’t bite. She judges” with a stern-looking dog staring at you from a photograph? I thought of something like that when I heard (I think in a movie or something) a comment about nuclear reactor “going critical”. I thought, ‘what does that mean, it tells you what a disappointment you’ve turned out to be?’

It was just a couple quick steps to this.

Of course in the Intelligence field, there is always talk about “sensitive” information (I did a joke on that; “sensitive items”) and then also “critical” information. So I just had to do it.

For readers who may not be up on the jargon, “OPSEC” means “OPerational SECurity”, and it means that in order to keep daily operations secure from discovery, people should not casually discuss secret, sensitive or critical information outside of secure offices. All your “top secret” in the world means nothing if you go out and loudly discuss things at a coffee shop or bus stop.

In case people are wondering what rank Achmed al-Rashi is, he is a Lieutenant. The Iraqi defense forces us a series of stars to denote the Lieutenant ranks (one star for junior, two for senior) which of course can be confusing for someone used to the American system, where stars are used only for Generals.
