Wow, that happened fast, didn’t it? The collapse of the 50+ year Assad regime in Syria upended decades of accepted political dogma. I even remember reading news reports that stated things like, “It is time to admit that Assad has won the Syrian civil war” and that it was time to accept that fact.

And let’s face it, for a while, it looked like that was the case. It just goes to show how quickly change can happen once an unexpected tipping point is reached.

We don’t know how this is going to play out over the larger drama of the Russo-Ukraine War, but it definitely makes things harder for the Russians. Maybe Bashar al-Assad can help his buddy out in the Donbas by distracting some drones.
