4 AUG:
Ahhh, the famous Dog & Pony Show.

“Red Cycle” is the work cycle that you’re put on that includes all the mundane chores– tower guard, for example, and any minor tasks that come up. It’s supposed to be a kind of “rest”, but also designed to keep you occupied so you don’t go crazy from boredom.

I was finishing up the art on this, got everything done except the camouflage, and closed it to eat dinner. After dinner, there was a power outage in my neighborhood– literally right in my neighborhood: my house and 11 others on a small block were the only ones affected. Teams were working on a nearby transformer box until 3 AM. Fortunately, my work was saved and I finished it on battery power, but was unable to post until Monday morning around 6 AM– 5 hours later than normal. A good lesson in having a collection of art in a buffer.

Check out the horse– I wish I could say I drew the horse but there’s an artist on DeviantArt called Silverglass19 who did that– I just entered a Google image search for “rearing horse” and saw Silverglass’s work and used that as a template. You can see this and more of Silverglass19’s work here: http://www.deviantart.com/art/Rearing-Horse-86479765
