When we finally break, and call the help desk… knowing it probably will only make things worse.
I wish I could say I was exaggerating with this comic, and… well, okay, but not by very much. At least one unnecessary and pointless layover will be a feature of most Defense Travel Services bookings. They do seek the lowest fares, but the scenario pictured here isn’t unheard of.
Most of the time, help desks –military and civilian– can help you out only with the immediate problem you have (which makes sense) but for some reason you can never apply the same things to new problems that arise in future interactions. Each new frustration is its own, special, unique problem, operating in disconnect from each preceding problem. A bug or a feature?
