These days there are so many traps to fall into on the internet, and A.I. is making it worse. The thing is, I’d actually be cool with A.I. if it was used to make life better for us, but instead it seems to just be making life easier for scammers who can sic a quasi-realistic romance scamming “agent” on an unsuspecting person.
People who prey on another person’s loneliness are among the worst.
Jensens sees the scam for what it is, but unfortunately, it is already too late. Alvarez has already forward a drill paycheck to “Olivia”, who is probably a 45-year-old guy in Indonesia with 80 cell phones working in a stack.
If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. If a new crush only wants to engage online and never call or video chat, and they quickly use endearing terms and get really familiar & comfortable with you, watch out. Be careful out there.
