We get inundated by online courses, and then when we show up for weekend drill, we tend to get shown even more of the same courses over and over again. Two things bedevil military service these days– a rash of suicides, and sexual harassment and assaults. Now, these are very serious things, and need to be addressed, but unfortunately in true military fashion the response is distributed in clumsy fire-hose manner. Multiple briefings, power-point slides, memorandums, posters, hand-out cards, and so on are meant to address the issues and remind people of the severity of the problems but end up become so much “white noise” due to endless repetition.
